Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kano State chapter Commends Kano State Police Command
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kano State chapter has commended the Kano State Police Command over what it described as high level of security provided in churches in the city on Christmas day.
State Chairman of CAN in the state, Bishop Ransom Bello, exppressed the satisfaction of members with the level of security provided in churches during Christmas services, pointing out that the security build-up ensured that no unpleasant event was recorded in the state, as Christians marked the birth of Jesus Christ.
“We lack words to express our appreciation to the Commissioner of Police Kano, Ibrahim Idris, for his strategy which worked out perfectly as there was no ugly incident before or during the Christmas festivity in Kano,” the CAN boss said, and hoped that such tight security would be maintained beyond the festive period.
In apparent response to the fear that gripped Christians in the state following expected Boko Haram strikes in the commercial city less than a week to Christmas celebration, the state police command placed about 7,000 officers on the red alert to ensure a hitch-free Christmas.
